Follow along to make 3 different quilling paper flower buds to round out your quilling creations!
No one can argue with the fact that paper artists love our big, beautiful blooms.
But sometimes, those large flowers need a little something extra!
To boost the texture, detail, and life in your quilling paper flower designs, you may want to mix in some tiny buds. They can really up the awesomeness of your work by adding contrasting or complimentary colors, plus a little greenery.
This week, I’m sharing how to make 3 different buds, each with their own technique. And since it seems that we’re getting an early spring this year, I was inspired to make these flowers with pastel pinks, ivory, and yellow paper strips. Just like always though, these colors are just the starting off point. Use your creativity and change them up so they’re perfect for your next project !
These quilling paper flower buds are simply adorable by themselves, but when I tuck them underneath a couple of paper sunflowers, the result is an eye-popper. Just full of life and texture!

Hi Meredith, it has been a long time since Iβve paper quilled. My grand daughter is turning two, she has inspired me take up the craft again. I have made your Lady Bug and love it. Your instructions are very clear. Thank you. Have you published a book? If not, how can I access your designs?
